Lawn Program

Why should I use your service rather than another company’s?

Control Pest Management is a family owned local company that is committed to providing the best service available using the best products at a fair price. Unlike many companies that are based out of Florida, we live and raise our families here and know the climate and what is best for your landscape.

Do I have to be home when you service the property?

Generally no, we will treat your property and leave an invoice on the door as well as a flag in the lawn to let you know we were there. If you have a locked gate or dog, we can call you before hand to let you know we are coming.

What kind of fertilizer do you use in your program?

We use both granular and liquid fertilizers throughout the year. This is primarily based on the season and the needs of the lawn.

When can I let my pets and children walk on the lawn after treatment?

We recommend staying off the lawn until it is dry, usually one hour. However, it is always best to minimize contact until it is watered.

How high should I mow my lawn?

St. Augustine Grass should be mowed at 3 ½”. Zoysia Grass should be mowed at 2 ½”. Also do not remove more than 1/3 of the blade length at any one mowing and never mow when your lawn is under drought stress.

How often should I water my lawn?

Most turf types require ¾-1” of watering at least 2 times per week. Usually 45 min to 1 hour per zone is sufficient. With government watering restrictions this can be difficult at times. Remember it is better to water for longer periods of times less frequently. Substitute watering days for rain through our rainy season to discourage disease and weed growth.

What type of weeds does your program control?

Our program includes broadleaf weed control. We do spray for sedge grass as well. Grassy weeds are uncontrollable in most turf types because the products used to kill them will also kill your turf. Your technician will let you know if something is beyond our control.

What type of insects are covered in your program?

Our program covers turf damaging insects like Chinch bugs and sod webworms. We also treat for ants while we are there. If fire ants or fleas become a problem, we have programs specific to controlling them.

What if there is a problem between services?

With all of our programs, if there is ever a question or concern between regular scheduled services we will be glad to perform a free service call. Simply call or e-mail us and we will do our best to get there usually within 24-48 hours.

Indoor Pest Control

Why should I choose your service over another companies?

Control Pest Management is a family owned local company that is committed to providing the best service available using the best products at a fair price. Unlike many companies that are based out of Florida, we live and raise our families here and know the climate and what is best for your indoor pest control needs. Our service is non intrusive and most of the time you do not even need to be home when we service. By applying a barrier around the home we keep insects from entering the home which limits interior spraying. Also, our convenient quarterly program is usually more cost effective than our competitors.

Do I have to be home when you provide service?

Usually not, however if the interior needs to be treated our technicians will schedule a time that is convenient.

Do I have to leave the house after the inside has been treated?

No, we mainly use baits inside the home and place them in areas where they are generally not accessible. If sprays are necessary for a particular pest, we will only use low or no odor products and only treat the necessary areas.

Do my pets have to leave when you treat the home?

No, most treatments are done outside and do not require your pets to leave. We are very pet friendly and do everything we can to minimize exposure to any products we apply. If we need to treat the interior of the home, we will place our products in areas that pets and small children can not get to.

What types of insects are covered under your program?

Our program covers most indoor pests like ants, roaches, pantry pests, spiders, etc.. Fleas are covered as well however if they become a major problem a special treatment may be necessary. Rodents, bed bugs and termites are not included in our indoor pest control program.

What if there is a problem between services?

With all of our programs, if there is ever a question or concern between regular scheduled services we will be glad to perform a free service call. Simply call or e-mail us and we will do our best to get there usually within 24 hours.

Termite

Does control pest management offer a termite bond?

Yes, we have a retreat and repair bond for subteranian termites. Our repair bond is backed by $250,000 damage repair.

Does your company use termiticides or bait stations to control termites?

We use both depending on the customers needs. We have found that the products available today work so well that bait stations never get hits therefore we will only use bait stations if a customer prefers them.

Do I have to leave when you perform a termite treatment?

No, The majority of the work is done on the outside unless there are areas inside that need to be treated. Our treatments are all designed to be minimally evasive as to not disturb the homeowner as much as possible.

How much does it cost to have a home treated for termites?

It depends on what type of termites you have, the size of the home and type of bond you choose. Our termite technicians will be glad to provide you with a free inspection and price quote.

Do I have to have termites to get a termite treatment?

No, actually it is best to protect your home from getting termites. Think of it as an insurance plan. Once the home is treated we guarantee you will not get termites and if you do we will either retreat free of charge or retreat and repair any damage free of charge depending on the program selected.
